In myofunctional therapy, I get to work with amazing kiddos and their wonderful families to tackle developmental issues, airway concerns, and to help them kick those pesky harmful habits. I've seen firsthand how ignoring things like thumb sucking, mouth breathing, and sleep-disordered breathing can lead to developmental changes over the years, and I’m dedicated to helping change that story.

I'm so excited to share some wonderful news about our journey toward revolutionizing pediatric dentistry! We have an amazing partner in the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), who has just updated their policies to support airway health, target habit elimination, and promote early intervention. It’s all about prevention, and that's a message we therapists are passionate about! The article kicks off by highlighting that "Early diagnosis and successful treatment of developing malocclusions can have both short-term and long-term benefits while achieving the goals of occlusal harmony, function, and dentofacial aesthetics." As a myofunctional therapist, I can’t tell you how inspiring this is!
The AAPD adds that "Dentists have the responsibility to recognize, diagnose, and manage or refer abnormalities in the developing dentition as dictated by the complexity of the problem and the individual clinician’s scope of practice." As a healthcare provider, I’m truly passionate about staying updated with the latest research and treatment guidelines from reputable organizations. It's really important to me that my patients get the best care possible! We all know how crucial information can be, but it can sometimes be overlooked. I really encourage you to take your children to a pediatric dentist early on and find someone who shares that same dedication to education.
