01

What Information will I receive from my consultation?

A consultation can provide valuable insight into whether myofunctional therapy is suitable for your needs. During our discussion, we will explore how the therapy functions and the key components that contribute to successful outcomes. You are welcome to begin with the consultation, or if you prefer, you may choose to start with a comprehensive examination.

02

Do I need a comprehensive examination to pursue therapy?

Yes! The examination is conducted online via our HIPAA-compliant platform and typically lasts about 90 minutes. This thorough examination is critical for your therapist to gather all the necessary information to create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your unique goals.

03

How much does therapy cost?

Therapy is thoughtfully tailored to accommodate each patient's individual needs, abilities, and willingness to engage, which can result in varying costs. On average, most patients typically complete their therapy in 10 to 15 sessions, with a fee of $99 per session.

04

Will therapy be covered by my medical insurance?

Myo Minded functions as a fee-for-service organization, and will not bill medical insurance directly.

Itemized invoices are available at any time through the patient portal, allowing patients the opportunity to submit them to their insurance for potential reimbursement. While myofunctional therapy may be eligible for coverage under medical insurance, please note that coverage can vary and is often limited.

I gladly accept payments from both health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts.

05

How do I pay for my visit?

06

What is the average length of time to complete therapy?

Generally, many patients find that they can complete therapy within 10 to 15 visits. However, the duration of therapy may vary based on patient dedication to practicing the exercises outside of your sessions.

07

What can I expect from remote therapy?

All appointments are conducted virtually through a HIPAA-compliant patient portal called Simple Practice. When you schedule your first appointment, you will receive an email with instructions to set up your account, complete necessary paperwork, and upload any required photos. The patient portal allows you to conveniently access your documentation, invoices, therapy notes, and communicate with your therapist.

Before each appointment, you will receive an email containing a link to access your upcoming session. You can access the portal through a computer or via an app available on both Android and Apple devices.

To ensure a smooth and effective telehealth experience ensure that your computer and web browser are updated. Simple Practice recommends using Google Chrome as a web browser. Additionally, having a hands-free camera and being in a well-lit area will greatly enhance our interaction.

08

What is a patient kit?

Before we begin our first therapy session, you will receive a patient kit in the mail. Your kit includes all the materials you'll need in order to complete the exercises we will cover throughout each session.

These tools are utilized throughout therapy and It's important to have them readily available during each appointment.

While some materials can be replaced if lost, please note that if multiple items are missing, there may be a fee for a new kit, which is priced at $49.

09

What if I have a vacation and I can not make my appointment in 2 weeks?

Of course, everyone deserves a vacation! I am more than happy to accommodate your schedule and assist in keeping everything on track. Wishing you a wonderful vacation, and I’ll be here to support you upon your return.

10

Will I be referred to other providers for any reason?

Myofunctional therapy plays a vital role in promoting functional and developmental health. However, it is equally important to identify the underlying causes of a patient's concerns. Therefore, collaborating with specialists can greatly enhance our ability to achieve effective treatment outcomes.

Some common complications for which specialist care may be beneficial include tongue-ties, sleep apnea, enlarged tonsils, severe allergies, orthodontic issues, and speech therapy.

11

How long will the effects of therapy last?

Therapy is thoughtfully designed to enhance daily functioning, foster new neuromuscular connections, and encourage positive behavioral changes, all aiming for lasting success. It is important to continue mindfulness after therapy in order to continue embracing new, healthy behaviors as you journey through life.
